"Battlefields and Biomes: Resisting War and Reclaiming the Earth" is a community-driven Earth Day event that Morgan Brown, our Youth Organizer & Digital Specialist, will be hosting this Saturday the 26th from 12-6 to explore the deep connections between imperialism, immigration, war, and environmental and social justice. By centering the voices of historically marginalized and oppressed communities, this event will uplift stories of resistance and resilience while envisioning a socialist future. The event will feature a blend of speakers, poetry, and music, amplifying the perspectives of the Chicano movement, to honor the history of La Raza in the event's location, as well as voices from the Sudanese, Congolese, and Palestinian movements—communities that have been deeply impacted by war and resource extraction. General Outline of the day is as follows:
12-12:30: Kalpulli Coloraztlan Quetzalcoatl Opening Ceremony
12:30-2: Speakers
2 - 3: March to Troy Chavez + Prayer - Cal Duran Story + Prayer
