About the Program
GHCC as a hub functions similarly to a honey bee hive. As we cross pollinate our ideas and capacity this often leads to shared initiatives and coalitions and we create sweet honey together. We like to describe how GHCC collaborates with others as Pollinator Partnerships and consider this as one of our core programmatic areas. Through our Pollinator Partnerships, we are strengthened by the diversity of perspectives convened in our hub and this provides us agility to meet immediate community needs and advocate to create a more healthy and beautiful world.

Community Organized for Clean Air in Partnership with Cultivando
Communities Organized for Clean Air is co-led by GHCC and Cultivando- a nonprofit organization led by Latina and Indigenous women in Commerce City, GES neighborhoods and across Colorado. Pollution knows no bonds and greatly overburdens North Metro Denver residents. Through this coalition GHCC and Cultivando are ensuring that directly-impacted-communities are driving the solutions to address the root causes of pollution and environmental change needed to improve neighborhood liveability and health outcomes. This effort also intentionally partners with the Climate and Health Program at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, DU Law Environmental Clinic, and Foote Environmental Law. By partnering with environmental, health and legal experts, this furthers community driven solutions when engaging in clean air advocacy efforts.
Kapulli ColorAztlan Queztalcoatl
Kalpulli ColorAztlan Quetzalcoatl is a Denver based Danza Azteca group led by Debora Montoya and Phyllis Cano going 40 years strong. Kalpulli ColorAztlan Quetzalcoatl found a home at the GHCC shortly after our doors first opened, and the group gathers currently to practice in our space twice a week. Several members of the Kalpulli ColorAztlan Quetzalcoatl are Indigenous healers and so they often serve as instructors for SEEDs Revolutionary Community Care Classes and offer healing support with limpias and acudetox at GHCC community events. Members of Kalpulli ColorAztlan Quetzalcoatl also served as instructors for cultural workshops teaching community feather making and sohanas (traditional Aztec rattles).
In 2024, Kalpulli ColorAztlan Quetzalcoatl hosted Xocolhuetzi Pahtia: Falling of the Fruit healing summit for the first time in alignment with the Fall Equinox. The beautiful community space was hosted at Elyria park offering free healing services to the greater community, creating a space for vendors and inviting communities to participate in creating a sacred cultural image using fruits, vegetables and herbs to celebrate the direction of the West and the season of harvest. GHCC supported Kalpulli ColorAztlan Quetzalcoatl the logistical costs and materials of Falling of the Fruit healing summit, which greatly contributed to its success. Kalpulli ColorAztlan Quetzalcoatl and GHCC invite you to join the next Xocolhuetzi Pahtia: Falling of the Fruit healing summit on Saturday, September 20th. Check the GHCC calendar for more details.
